Fears are being expressed that jobs in the hospitality sector locally could be at risk unless a cut is made to the cost of excise tax on alcohol.
A new report by the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland shows the Clare hospitality and drinks trade employs over 6,600 people and generates 265 million euro for the local economy.

The DIGI also highlighted the challenges facing the sector in the wake of Brexit, with a drop in UK visitors already recorded.
