An almost 12,000-square-foot factory could soon be coming to Clare.
Plans have been submitted to Clare County Council for an industrial development which would include an over 70-space car park on the outskirts of Shannon.
Shannon Commercial Enterprises DAC is seeking planning permission to build a 3,630-square-metre light industrial manufacturing facility on Smithtown Road in Ballycasey More.
The facility would include a naturally lit high-bay workspace and a two-storey annex comprising administration and office spaces as well as sanitary and staff welfare facilities.
The project would require the creation of two new site entrances from the perimeter public roadways, one of which would provide access for heavy goods vehicles from the north off Smithstown Road to a dedicated goods yard.
The other entrance, it’s stated, would be from the east and would be for all other vehicles.
A total of 76 car parking spaces would be provided including 76 EV charging spaces and four universal access spaces, while 38 bicycle spaces under a covered shelter and a vehicular set-down zone have also been proposed.
Other elements of the plans include external public lighting, photovoltaic panels, building signage, and landscaping.
A decision is due to be made on the proposal by December 18th while submissions can be made by the public up until November 27th.
