More than 1,200 parents in Clare have availed of parental leave since the scheme was enhanced last year.
Figures released to the Oireachtas by Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys show 1,271 parents in this county since it was extended from two to five weeks last April.
They’re among nearly 56,000 parents nationally who have availed of the enhanced scheme since its inception.
