The Emergency Department and the region’s main hospital remains extremely busy heading into the weekend.
The latest figures from the INMO show 113 admitted patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 47 of those on trolleys in the ED.

The overall figures is almost double the next busiest facility.
Earlier this week, the UL Hospitals Group encouraged patients to consider all healthcare options before attending the Dooradoyle facility, such as your GP, GP out of hours service, the Injury Unit at Ennis General or pharmacist, amid high presentations at the ED.
