The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains almost double that of any other hospital in the country.

The latest figures from the INMO shows there were 111 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 66 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 54 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and represents almost a quarter of all patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
