A young Kinvara boy is showing that he is far from ‘bird-brained’ today as he launches his first ever book at just 11 years old.
Declan Cairney’s book ‘Raptors: A Pocket Guide to Birds of Prey’ and Owls is being launched at the Burren Birds of Prey Centre at Ailwee Cave -a flying display of trained raptors is also taking place at the centre.

All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Golden Eagle Trust which is working to re-introduce birds of prey into the wild in Ireland.
Speaking on The Today Show on Clare FM this week, Declan Cairney explained how he bacame interested in the subject.
