The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains very high today.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 103 admitted patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 47 of those in the Emergency Department alone.

The overall figure is 47 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and comes on a day when there were 543 patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
