Over 1,000 Dogs Euthanised In Clare Since 2013

Clare’s Dog Warden insists that no healthy dog has ever been put down in this county under his watch.

New figures released to Ennis Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn show that 1,115 dogs have been euthanised here in the last decade.

In 2013, the number of euthanisations peaked at 384, before falling as low as 13 in 2017, however in the past year, the number of dogs put to sleep in Clare has doubled from 24 to 48.
