A status orange thunderstorm warning has been extended until 10 o’clock tonight.
The alert for heavy downpours of rain and hail, now applies to Clare and the rest of Munster, as well as parts of Leinster.

Thousands of properties have been without power at various stages since yesterday evening, on account of the weather event, 104 of those on the Ennis line.
The ESB expects power to be restored there in the early afternoon.
