The number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick is greater than combined total of the next two busiest facilities in the country.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation recorded 100 patients without a bed at the MidWest Region’s Main Hospital during this mornings rounds, 41 of whom were counted in the Emergency Department.

In University Hospital Galway and Sligo University Hospital meanwhile, 48 and 40 patients were recorded respectively.
It comes on a day when 474 patients including 106 children were waiting for a bed at hospitals throughout the country.
