The number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick has soared past the 100 mark again today.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation recorded 40 patients without a bed at Dooradoyle’s Emergency Department, with a further 60 registered on the wards.

By comparison, Sligo and Cork University Hospitals were the next most overcrowded facilities in the country with 44 and 42 patients on trolleys respectively.
It comes on a day where 313 people are without a bed at hospitals nationwide including 62 children.
