10 Workers At Tipperary Care Home Taken Off Duty After Complaint

The Minister for Primary and Social Care has said she expected more concerns to be raised about care homes and disability services, following the allegations made at the Áras Attracta home in Swinford, Co. Mayo.

Kathleen Lynch was reacting to a HSE investigation at a Tipperary care home for people with disabilities – where 10 staff have been taken off duty following a complaint.

Yesterday it was revealed that a complaint was made relating to concerns about care practices at two residential units run by the Daughters of Charity in Roscrea.

The Gardai and HIQA have been notified of the complaint, and the HSE says a detailed investigation is underway.
