Only one Garda Division in all of Ireland has welcomed fewer recruits than Clare this year.
New figures show that for every new Garda assigned to this county, another 87 went elsewhere.
The Dáil has been told that 880 new Gardaí have been assigned to Stations this year.
But a division-by-division breakdown shows only 10 of those came to Clare.
By comparison, nearly 400 went to Dublin, and there were over 20 each in Westmeath, Louth, Waterford and Wexford.
In fact, only the Sligo/Leitrim division had fewer recruits than Clare, with 8.
The allocation of Gardaí to a given area is a matter for the Garda Commissioner, who considers the needs fo the force when making the decision.
It is also the policy of the Comissioner that new recruits are assigned to designated training stations where they receive additional supports.
In recent years, Garda resources have been a cause of concern in Clare although separate to these figures, it is known that a number of Gardaí have transferred to this county from other Garda Divisions.
