1 in 3 women experience domestic violence – and of the solved murders of Irish women in 10 years, 1 in every 2 women were murdered by their husband, partner or ex-partner.

That's one of the issues which will be discussed at the Safe Ireland Summit on domestic violence today.
Maria Dempsey, whose daughter Alicia was murdered six years ago, says she is speaking at the conference to give voice to her daughter and the many other women "who are not with us" because of domestic violence.
