Two Clare sites are to receive a total of almost a million and a half euro in funding as part of a major government funding announcement for urban regeneration.

1 million euro will be provided for a new county library in Ennis, while 400,000 euro will be given for the redesign of Rineanna Park in Shannon.
Among the biggest recipients are Limerick, which will get around 4 million euro to improve public spaces, with Galway which is to receive 3.5 million euro.
