Seán Lyons hails from the place in Ireland arguably most renowned for music; County Clare.
Growing up in a family of traditional Irish musicians and singers, he learned the tin whistle and uilleann pipes at a young age.
Throughout his childhood and early teens, he competed and performed music at a local, national and international level to great success.
As a teenager, Seán developed an interest in folk music and is a passionate interpreter of folk songs.
During this period, he also began writing songs.
In 2017, he won the countywide talent contest “Clare’s Got Talent” which was adjudicated by Brian Kennedy.
In 2020, Seán released his debut single Lady Winter. In 2021, he followed this with Finavarra Reverie.
Seán’s debut EP of original songs “Juliana EP” will be released on February 3rd 2023.
The EP is a collection of five songs written in the folk idiom about various subjects such as national identity, mental health and loss.
