Aldoc, “Mugle” – ISOTW – 11/07/23

ALDOC is a rag-tag band of international musicians hell-bent on bending
the rules of traditional music as much as humanly possible.
With over 1 million Spotify streams, they will be instantly recognisable to
any GAA lovers as the rabble-rousing entrance music for all teams in
Croke Park since 2017.
With their newest release ‘Mugle’ showcasing talents such as Alan
Doherty (Kíla, Damien Dempsey, Dan McCabe), Alex Borwick (Sam
Fender, Lankum, James Vincent McMorrow), Gerry Paul (Gráda, Tim
O’Brien, Sharon Shannon) and Fiach Moriarty (Horslips, Beoga, Pauline
Scanlon), ALDOC may be the most unusual and exciting band to
emerge from Ireland in recent times.
‘Mugle’ lands just in time for festival season and is an exhilarating
journey through the band’s varied influences and care-free exuberance.
With stomping brass, soaring flute, tight harmonies and biting guitars, it
may well be the song of Summer 2023.
One thing is for sure, you will not hear anything else like it this year!
