A Clare driver has been caught speeding, while under the influence of drugs, for the second time in three weeks.
The Garda Roads Policing Unit detected a car travelling at 105 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometre speed zone in Ennistymon over the weekend.
The driver was tested for illegal substances at the scene and subsequently arrested.
The maximum penalty for those caught driving under the influence of drink or drugs is a 5,000 euro fine or imprisonment for up to six months, while those caught speeding are given three penalty points and a fixed charge fine of 160 euro.
Clare RPU in Ennistymon at the weekend detected this car at 105km/h in the town, which has a 50km/h speed limit.
The driver tested positive for cannabis & was arrested.
