Hope That New Fleadh Nua Date Will Lead To Bigger Festival

It’s hoped moving the Fleadh Nua festival to the June Bank Holiday from next year will see a major jump in the numbers coming to Ennis to watch and play music.

Thousands of people already flock to Ennis each year to attend the eight day event, which is traditionally held across the final week of May.

But Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann has approved a motion to move it forward to the June Bank Holiday from 2020, which it’s hoped will lure in a larger audience who are already coming to Clare for the long weekend.
