A Garda investigation is underway into a serious assault in Clarecastle.
One person was taken to hospital following the incident.
It’s understood that around 8 o’clock yesterday evening, a man aged in his 30s was walking on Clarehill, when he was approached by another male and assaulted.
His attacker subsequently made his escape.
Emergency services were alerted and the injured party was transported to University Hospital Limerick, where he’s being treated for injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardaí in Ennis are investigating the incident, which they’ve described as “serious”.
