A Ukrainian woman claims the choppy conditions of the Atlantic Ocean haven’t hampered her enjoyment of working on ferries in North Clare.
Margarita Urdenko has become Doolin Ferry’s only female crew member, serving in the role of Deck Officer with the company.

Prior to coming to Ireland, she studied at the Odessa National Maritime University and graduated in 2024.
She says despite occasional high tides and challenging weather, it’s largely been plain sailing so far.
