A former National Hurling league winner with Clare is confident the Banner will bounce back up to the top tier this season.
Brian Lohan’s side begin life in Division 1B on Sunday afternoon when Dublin are the visitors to Zimmer Biomet Pairc Chiosoig.
It is the first time in a decade that Clare will operate in the lower tier, having won just one game in Division 1A last year.
Newmarket’s Colin Ryan says getting back up to playing top tier opposition will be key for championship preparation.
