There has been a more than 50% increase in the number of children living in homelessness since last year.
The latest report from the Department of Housing shows 373 children living in emergency accomodation during the week of the 22nd to the 28th of June.
The figure is a 57% increase from the same month last year, when 237 children were recorded as homeless across Limerick and Clare.
This also shows a slight increase from the figure from May of this year, when 360 children were living in homelessness in the Midwest.
Looking at Clare, there was 25% increase in the number of adults accessing emergency accomodation in the last week of June.
The department noted 99 adults as homeless last month, an increase of 20 from June 2025, when 79 people were recorded as homeless in Clare.
The number shows a slight increase in the number of people accessing homeless services in comparison to May when 97 adults were living in emergency accomodation.
Nationally, 17, 482 people were recorded as homeless in June, a slight increase from the month of May.
