TUS Clare SHC Semi Final: Inagh-Kilnamona 1-24 Eire Óg 2-14
Inagh-Kilnamona dethroned the county champions and set up a derby showdown with Kilmaley in the TUS senior hurling final after a dominant showing in Zimmer Biomet Pairc Chiosiog.
Captain Aidan McCarthy led the way with a tally of 0-13, 0-7 of that coming from play in a brilliant performance.
The 2024 All Ireland winner was also the architect of his sides goal, just their second in the championship to date, as he climbed highest to gain possession before laying off for U20 All Ireland winner Fred Hegarty to slot home in the final quarter.
It came after Eire Óg had brought themselves back into the game with a cracking Marco Cleary goal that left six points between the sides entering the final quarter.
Playing with the wind, Inagh-Kilnamona led 0-14 to 0-7 at the break, and stretched ten clear at one stage of the third quarter.
Hegarty’s goal put the result beyond doubt, but David Reidy did fire home late on to reduce the deficit.
It means Eugene Cullinan’s side will contest the showpiece event for the second time in their history, and a first since 2021, with neighbours Kilmaley awaiting in two weeks time.
