The Head of Home and Community Care Ireland says the HSE’s reasons for lengthy backlogs in Clare don’t wash.
A recent report by the HCCI found that Clare’s home care waiting list is proportionally the longest in the country and more than double the national average.

In a statement to Clare FM, the HSE says recruitment of homecare staff in Clare and particularly rural areas is proving to be a challenge, adding that the MidWest’s older population is also above the national average.
HCCI CEO Joseph Musgrave says conditions need to be made more attractive.
