Clare are still searching for their first win of the 2025 National Hurling League.
Wexford inflicted a third straight defeat of the campaign on the current holders, as they left Cusack Park with a 1-23 to 1-17 victory.
It leaves Clare on the bottom of the Division 1A table, with games against Limerick, Tipperary and Cork still to come.
Clare selector Ken Ralph says they can have no complaints about the result.
