Clare Ladies Football has moved to address the unprecedented adjournment of last night’s executive meeting.
In a statement this lunchtime, Clare LGFA says the meeting was adjourned due to a “procedural issue”, claiming that confidential correspondence meant solely for the attention of the executive had been circulated to the media.
It’s understood the Clare Intermediate team wanted to seek clarity on the ratification of dates for the upcoming championship fixtures, with many in attendance at Hotel Woodstock last night.
Clare LGFA says however that in order to protect the integrity of the association and to safeguard the wellbeing of the players concerned, that the meeting had to be adjourned by the chairperson.
The association has promised a full and proper investigation into the breach and says the meeting will be reconvened once the matter has been addressed.
