Calls In Clare For Daylight Savings Time To Be Scrapped Ahead Of Clock Change

Calls have been made in Clare to scrap daylight saving time, as clocks spring forward this weekend.

It follows a meeting in Brussels last week, after which Ireland South MEP Séan Kelly is writing to Environment Minister Darragh O’Brien to put the issue on the agenda for the Irish Presidency.

The Fine Gael Member of European Parliament believes that if the EU doesn’t end the practice permanently, it should be trialled on a temporary basis.

Clocks will change this Sunday, moving forward by one hour and these people in Clare think we should remain on summer time for good.
