Young Men Threatened With Knives In Two Separate Incidents In Ennis

Gardaí have described as “traumatic”, two separate incidents in Ennis over the weekend, during which young men were approached and threatened by males who said they had knives.

On Saturday night at around 7 o’clock, a young man was walking along the River Walk when he was approached by two men who threatened to stab him if he didn’t hand over his money.

At around 11 o’clock that night, two young brothers were approached by a lone male, who again threatened them and a sum of money was taken from them.

One man was arrested a short distance away and has appeared in court charged in connection with the incident.
