World’s Largest Cargo Jet To Land At Shannon With PPE Consignment

The world’s largest cargo aircraft is scheduled to deliver nearly one million pieces of Personal Protective Equipment to Ireland when it touches down at Shannon Airport later today.

The massive Ukrainian-built Antonov-225 – is the only plane of its type in operation, has a wingspan of 88 metres, and is the heaviest plane ever built.

Shannon is the only airport in Ireland with a runway large enough to cater for it.
