Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald is urging the media to stop questioning the circumstances surrounding two Clare players being forced into isolation after being identified as close contacts of the positive cases in his squad.

A war of words has been rumbling since the matter came to light almost two weeks ago, with unanswered questions remaining as to who gave the names of the two Clare players to the HSE.

It was claimed in a statement from Clare GAA last week that one of their players had been singled out by the colour of his helmet, while claims by Wexford chairman Micheal Martin that video footage was used to determine the close contacts were denied by Public Health Midwest.

Speaking after his side were beaten by Kilkenny yesterday, Fitzgerald said the focus should be on what happens on the field, and in his view, the matter is now at a close.
