Tánaiste Claims Seven-Day Roster Would Maximise Potential Of Region’s Main Hospital

The Tánaiste claims implementing a seven-day roster at University Hospital Limerick would maximise the potential of the facility.

It comes as trolley numbers peaked at 97 patients at the region’s main hospital yesterday, representing more than a quarter of all patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.

The seven-day roster was recently proposed by new HSE CEO Bernard Gloster, as means of ensuring consultants are available at weekends to stem overcrowding and waiting times during the week.
