Surplus Of Over €225,000 To Be Declared In Treasurers Report At Clare GAA Convention

Seven motions will be discussed by Clare’s GAA club at this evenings annual Convention.

The meeting will also hear that a surplus of over €225,000 has been recorded for the 2021 season.

Among the motions to be discussed is a suggestion from Tulla GAA club to introduce a points based system to reward teams and management for “positive behaviour” towards match officials.

The East Clare club are also asking that a list of all motions adopted by Clare GAA over the last 10 years should be compiled and provided to clubs.

On the financial front, a surplus of over €225,000 will be detailed in the treasurers report, a turnaround from last year’s deficit of close to €500,000.

Income from gate receipts jumped by over €170,000 as patrons were allowed back to games, while income from Associated Bodies saw a rise of over €150,000.

The total income for the board this year stands at just over €1.3 million with expenditure of just shy of €1.1 million.

The biggest jump in expenditure was in team expenses which increased by €123,000 to just over €642,000 while administrative expenses saw a drop of over €235,000
