Strong Winds And Heavy Rain Forecast For Clare As Yellow Warning Remains In Place

A low level status yellow wind warning remains in effect for Clare this morning.

Met Éireann is forecasting gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour, stronger in coastal areas and over higher ground, with wave overtopping along the coast.

The warning, which also covers Limerick, Galway, Cork and Kerry remains in effect until 3 o’clock this afternoon.

Meteorologist with Met Éireann, Paul Downes says winds will move north-west to north today, with the strongest winds over Mayo, Sligo, Donegal and Leitrim, though there will be gusts in most places, with heavy falls of rain.
