Stage Set For Marion Keane Finals

St. Flannans N.S., Inagh will, once again host the finals of the Marion Keane Primary Schools Basketball competitions at Inagh hall, on Wednesday, March 20th next. 
The tournament, now in its 20th year, and in memory of the popular Scoil Chríost Rí teacher,  has gone from strength to strength with in excess of 50 teams competing in both the boys and girls competitions.
Defending girls champions, Scoil Mhuire, Lahinch are joined at semi-final stage by Cahera N.S. and St. Finnachtas, Sixmilebridge. The fourth semi-final berth will be decided between St. Senans, Kilrush, Clohanes/Shragh and Moveen N.S.
The boys competition has also three confirmed teams with Lissycasey N.S. and Gaelscoil Mhichíl Ciosóg, Inis joining host school, St. Flannans, Inagh at the penultimate stage. The final berth will be filled following this week’s blitz between St. Senans, Kilrush, Gaelscoil Uí Choimín and Clohanes N.S.
Proceedings are scheduled to get underway at 9.30 a.m. with a draw for semi final pairings. The Marion Keane Cup final (girls) should be well underway by 11 a.m. with Marion’s parents, Dan and Carmel the guests of honour. The boys semi-finals and final will follow immediately afterwards and will bring the curtain down on another excellent year of participation in Primary Schools Basketball in Co. Clare.
