Social Protection Minister Rules Out Additional Support Hub In Clare For Ukrainian Refugees

The Minister for Social Protection has appeared to rule out an additional support hub for Ukrainian refugees being opened in Clare.

That’s despite an estimated 1,000 refugees from the war-torn state now being accommodated in Lisdoonvarna alone, with further significant numbers understood to be in Kilkee, Ballyvaughan, Ennis and Shannon.

Fears have been expressed in some quarters that some communities are ‘bursting at the seams’ in terms of the resources and assistance it can allocate to those fleeing the conflict.
