Met Éireann has extended its snow-ice warning to Clare.
A band of rain has been forecast here and thirteen other counties, turning to sleet and snow in places.
The forecaster is warning of icy stretches on untreated surfaces, poor visability and hazardous travelling conditions.
The alert, which came into effect at noon remains in place until 6 o’clock this evening, however a yellow ice warning remains in place for the whole country from then until 9 o’clock tomorrow morning.
