SIPTU Says Shannon Staff Will Not Take Pay Cuts Lying Down

SIPTU’s Aviation Organiser says that their staff at Shannon will simly accept pay cuts that are being proposed by Shannon Group.

Earlier this week, the Group confirmed it’s pushing ahead with plans for a 20% pay reduction for most workers, in spite of union opposition.

SIPTU’s Tony Carroll says the union will not accept the unilateral decision made by Shannon Group, and a ballot for potential strike action is to be held.

He accepts that the future of the airport must be considered in all decisions.
