Significant Fall In Clare Live Register Figures

The latest Live Register figures have shown a significant fall in the number of people signing on in County Clare.

The number of people seeking some form of unemployment benefit fell by almost 400 last month, and by over 900 from last year.

The Live Register figures paint what appears to be a positive picture for Clare.

382 people have signed off the dole queues, bringing the total number signing on here to 6428 at the end of March.

North Clare had the largest drop in figures in the county with a fall of 138, while there was a fall of 111 in Ennis.

In East and West Clare, meanwhile, the numbers signing on dropped by 73 and 60 respectively.

The numbers all show significant growth on the same time last year.

Compared with March of 2016, the live register here has shown a drop of 12%.
