Shannon’s Alford Crowned Undisputed World Kickboxing Champion

A Clare man has brought home four professional kickboxing world titles to the Banner.

Liam Alford of Shannon Kickboxing Club became the undisputed Super Lightweight World Champion after beating the reigning champion Quasim Beg.

The champions record had stood at 49-0 before facing the Shannon man, with Alford inflicting a first ever stoppage via TKO on the English fighter.

Alford, who is coached by fellow Shannon man Howie Vincent, is a former six time amateur world champion and previously won the 64kg title on his professional debut.
