Shannon Chamber Hopeful Heritage Sites Takeover Will Provide Tourism Boost

Shannon Chamber says the approval of funding enabling the transfer of heritage sites to the local authority is most welcome, at a time when there’s never been a greater need to develop resources for economic development.

The chamber represents over 330 members employing 19,500 people in the region and it says the transfer will act as a huge boost to the tourism industry in the region.

At a special meeting this week councillors backed the multi-annual support package proposed by government to facilitate the takeover of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the Cliffs of Moher gift shop by the Council.
