Shannon Chamber’s CEO says members are buying houses for employees or putting them up in hotels due to the shortage of accommodation in the locality.
It comes as IBEC has reported that 70% of companies listed housing as a ‘key challenge’, which is leading to serious problems with staff retention.
The business group also claims the issue is ‘harming Ireland’s attractiveness as a place to live’ and poses the greatest threat to competitiveness at the moment.
