Shannon Calls For International Pride At This Year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Shannon Town is calling for more international colours to join their Sea of Green this St Patrick’s Day.

The South East Clare town has put out their call for people of all nationalities living in the area to be represented in their Paddy’s Day Parade.

The latest CSO data shows that 18% of Shannon’s population are non-Irish nationals and the event organisers want to give different clubs, societies and organisations a chance to wave their flag.

Organiser of the Shannon parade, Niamh O’Callaghan, says those that don’t want to march can still show off their national identity.
