A Shannon based Councillor claims the impracticality of recycling centres is forcing people in Clare to call on illegitimate companies to take away their rubbish.
It comes as cases of illegal dumping are said to be continuing to rise in Clare due to the high cost of private bin collections.
Recycling centres around the county only cater for certain objects, and a bag of household waste and a mattress would have to be disposed of at different facilities.
