Over 600 homes in Clare could be impacted by pyrite.

The figures revealed in today’s Irish Examiner show that Clare County Council has acknowledged up to 620 homes are possibly affected by the defective mineral, which would make Clare the county with highest incidence rate in the country.

Clare Pyrite Action founder Martina Cleary claims research by their group has found up to 1000 homes, 18 affected estates and eight public buildings along with the buildings identified in the Council’s housing stock are showing signs of defects.
