There will be plenty Clare interest today as the 2022 Cheltenham Festival gets underway.

Having missed out on last years renewal due to Covid restrictions on amatuer jockeys, Tubber native Derek O’Connor will be in action in the closing race of the day, the Amateur Jockeys’ Novices’ Chase at 5.30pm.

He partners the Gavin Cromwell trained Vanillier, who is currently toward the head of the market for the race.
