People trying to access medicinal cannabis are having to do so out of their own pocket.

That’s according to Clare Independent TD Violet Anne Wynne, who says the Medical Cannabis Access Programme is not working for patients.

Only 53 people have received care under the programme in the last 7 years to deal with multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and cancer.
