The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is calling on people in Clare to attend blood donation clinics at the beginning of the new year.
IBTS says it’s been increasingly difficult to keep blood supplies at the level required to get through the holiday season after clinics cancelled during Storm Barra resulted in the loss of around 300 donations.
Services are being held at The Auburn Lodge Hotel in Ennis on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of January and donors are being reminded that donations can’t be made for 72 hours after receiving a Covid-19 vaccine or booster shot.
