Passenger Numbers Soared By 78% At Shannon Airport

Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport soared by 78% in the last year.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that over 160,000 people touched down at the Midwest Airport between January & March.

Approximately 164,387 passengers disembarked planes landing on the runways of Shannon Airport in the first three months of the year.

The figures published in the CSO’s latest Aviation Statistics for the first quarter recorded the busiest January to March period in Shannon since 2018.

The English capital remains the popular destination for travellers flying out of the Midwest Airport with 65,146 flying to Gatwick, Stanstead & Heathrow from Shannon town.

Meanwhile when the focus shifts to arrivals outside of the UK, the most common popular inbound routes for Shannon came from Boston Logan , Krakow, Wroclaw & New York.

Overall the total number of passengers availing of the services of Shannon Airport has increased by over 52% since January of 2020.
