One man has died and another seriously injured in a road traffic collision in East Clare on Friday night.
The two-car crash occurred shortly before 10.00pm on the R463 at Parteen close to Larkin’s Cross.
Units of the fire brigade from Limerick City as well as Killaloe in Clare responded to the collision along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí.
A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene while a second man, in his late teens, who was travelling in same vehicle, was taken to University Hospital Limerick to for treatment for serious injuries.
The road remained closed overnight and until Garda forensic collision investigators have completed an examination the scene.
Gardaí are Henry Street in Limerick are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
